“How many of you here have a blog?” the
speaker asked the room full of women. At least half of those in
the room raised their hands. “Holy cow,” I thought.
“There are 650 women in this hall and so many of them are
blogging. The field is crowded!”
The scene was the 12th Annual She Speaks Conference sponsored
by Proverbs 31 Ministries. It was a time of learning what’s
involved in writing and publishing books and how to effectively speak to
Christian women. And yes…there were about 650 women there.
It could be intimidating if you let it be.
But as I thought about it later, I’m really
happy that the internet is giving so many of us a place to share our
faith. There are those in this world today – as there have always
been – who vociferously want us to go sit in the corner and be quiet.
They have no understanding of the commandment we are following from Jesus
Christ: “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel…”
Even on to the internet and beyond!
