May you live to see your children's children...
Psalm 128:6
The only problem I see with grandchildren is that they just grow up TOO FAST!
Six years ago on August 7th, our family was blessed with the last grandchild - the caboose of the group of four unique and special young people Ed and I call our grands. What a hoot he is! How can you resist that smile? And the neat thing is, he wears it most of the time.
August 7 was already a special day for our family because that's my Father's birthday. He passed in 2001, but I swear - from some place in heaven he gave Nathaniel a shot of his quirky personality and sense of humor.
Nathaniel is going to need that sense of humor and all the quirky spunk he can muster because he has a challenge. Right before Christmas last year, we learned that he is acutely hearing impaired. He wears a hearing aid in his left ear and it hasn't slowed him down a bit. He has learned to put it in and take it out himself, and to put it in a safe place when it's time for bath or bed. It won't be long before he will be dealing with the batteries himself.
We are seeing that God gives a special grace wherever it's needed. Every child is a blessing and we love all our grands the same. Some just need a little more help than others.
Happy birthday, sweet boy. Keep smiling. Your Mimi and PawPaw love you.
